Coldspring Egg Farm has been in the egg business since 1958. We operate, as a family owned company with four generations involved with the farms.

In 1993 we started to experiment with composting chicken manure as an alternative to landspreading. In 1995 we started to develop and have marketed our own brand of chicken manure compost since 1997. This product was a mixed yard waste and chicken manure combination.

Through years of experiments and research into equipment we have committed to building a progressive composting facility located on our farm located near Whitewater in southeastern Wisconsin. Our goal is to produce a high quality composted chicken manure product.

Currently we are able to divert manure from being landspread as an agricultural fertilizer. We chose to compost because the end result is a stable organic product safe for use on lawns and gardens with no offensive odors some poultry products have. We have developed very close ties to the organic agriculture community in our area and felt we could all benefit from our composting operation. We have always had a strong interest in protecting the environment and composting is our commitment to the protection of precious natural resources and public safety.
