What came first the chicken, the egg, or Chick Magic Organic Fertilizer? In 1993, we at S&R Egg Farm, Wisconsin’s premier egg laying facility, pecked at an idea. Instead of the traditional manure land spreading method, why not produce organic fertilizer products that are easy to use, quickly transported, and simple to store and package? And like magic, with this simple, yet grand idea, Chick Magic Organic Fertilizer was hatched.

We began experimenting with composting our chicken manure, but quickly found the composting process volatilized and lost many of the valuable nutrients we wished to retain in our organic fertilizer products. Our goal was to preserve and enhance the nutrients in the products we made and composting did not meet this standard.

Through years of experiments and research, we determined that drying the manure and then pelleting it retained more value in our end product. We knew pelleting was the direction we wanted to go, but we needed more time to develop the value we sought for our products. After further research, more tests, and fine-tuning our approach, we designed a set of proprietary methods to retain the value Mother Nature had intended.

Today, we operate a progressive fertilizer manufacturing facility with a strong alliance to the agricultural community. Our goal is to produce the highest quality organic fertilizer, while maintaining environmental sustainability. We strive to meet the needs of the farming, horticultural, and turf grass industries.
